Hell yeah, you heard it right! "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was revealed as the special guest referee for the matchup between Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler at WrestleMania. Talk about awesome – It was really exciting seeing Stone Cold back on Monday Night Raw after being gone for years. Stone Cold is one of those wrestlers who was from the Attitude Era that everyone wishes he never left. When the information was known that Michael Cole would announce the special guest referee for his WrestleMania XXVII match, and that Stone Cold was going to appear on the same night, I knew that Stone Cold was going to be the referee ahead of time. I'm not saying that I was the only person to predict this, but it's a big deal that Stone Cold is a major part of WrestleMania again.
When Michael Cole was in the ring on Monday Night Raw and he brought out JBL, it was obvious that Stone Cold would interfere. Then Stone Cold comes out, takes out JBL, chugs and smashes beer cans, and signs the contract himself. Michael Cole's role was to be upset by this, but he overdid it. He said, "Oh my God," too many times and was all nervous and jittery before Stone Cold even looked at the contract. It was hilarious to watch all of this happening, and JBL getting doused in beer.
After he signed the contract, Stone Cold went over and talked to Michael Cole, and shook his hand. It seemed like Stone Cold was trying to become friends with Michael Cole. Of course, something didn't seem right, and Michael Cole got a beer shower. Stone Cold is just a great actor, and a crowd favorite. Now for WrestleMania XXVII, two former WWE Superstars will be playing a major role. Gimmie a Hell Yeah if you can smell WrestleMania approaching!
