Over the Limit Predictions

Posted by Joe on May 23, 2010 at 7:17 PM

So, finally, after quite some time, I am back with my PPV blogs.

Tonight is WWE's first Over the Limit PPV, and I have to say, the card looks pretty good.  Not a great card, but good, a nice solid card.

First we have Ted DiBiase vs. R-Truth.  I like this little feud they have going on with these two.  It's a nice way to kick off Ted DiBiase's new gimmick as the "Million Dollar Man", like his father.  My guess is that R-Truth s just being used by WWE to make Ted look strong, so I am going to say Ted DiBiase wins this one.

Next we have Eve vs Maryse for the Divas Championship.  Eve really is just not a good wrestler.  I would love to see Maryse win, as she can actually wrestle a bit, but, knowning WWE, they will put Eve over.  So I am saying Eve wins here.

Next we have Chris Jericho and the Miz vs. the Hart Dynasty for the Unified Tag Team Titles. I really think this has potential to be a great match.  Why they put Jericho in with a bunch of mid-carders is a bit of a mystery to me. but I still think this can be good.  As for who wins, I'll go with the Hart Dynasty.

Next we have Randy Orton vs. Edge.  This match I am really looking forward and I think it can steal the show.  For the winner I am going to go with Edge, but I wouldn't be shocked if Orton won.

Next is Rey Mysterio vs.CM Punk is a "Join S.E.S. vs. Hair Match".  I absolutly love this stipulation, somethings got ot give and it's not going to a minor loss for either.  I am going to say CM Punk wins, Rey joins to S.E.S., but the feud between the two continues, until Rey is able to get out of the S.E.S.

Next we have Drew McIntyre defending his Intercontinental Championship against Kofi Kingston.  McIntyre is simply just not that over.  Sure, it can be a good match, but when you don't really care about one of the participants, it makes the match less exciting.  Kofi is very over as a face, though, so hopefully that will work in favor of McIntyre (meaning if he beats on a very-ver face, he may draw heat, even though he isn't so over as a heel).  As for the winner, I'll say McIntyre wins.

Next is Jack Swagger defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Big Show.  I think this match can bomb or actually be pretty good.  I'll say Swagger wins, and if WWE doesn't want to put him over cleanly, maybe by DQ or countout, but Swagger is walking out with the WHC.

Last is Batista vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship in an I Quit match.  I absolutly cannot wait for this match.  I think the Cena vs. Batista feud/storyline has played out great over the past 3 months, and this will be the big ending.  I will say Cena wins, though.  And also, there is serious talk Batista may be leaving WWE in the very near future.

So, there you have it, WWE Over the Limit.  I think it will be a pretty good, solid show.  On paper, you look at the card and think "Ok, I can shell out 50 bucks for that".  You don't think "Wow, what a great card", but you also don't think "Oh, what a horrible card"
