It was alright. It was cool, meeting Shelton Benjamin, Vladimir Kozlov, Santino Marella, the Hart Dynasty, Cody Rhodes was very cool, it was like 8 autograph signings in one. And there a a bunch of other guys I did't even get to meet who were also there. Christian was there and BY FAR had the longest line, and being that I had already met Christian back in November, and there were other things to do, I didn't bother with that. Santino Marella also had a HUGE line, but I think that was because he really took a lot of time talking to people, so the line got backed up. They had a Memorbilia display which was cool, they had a jacket Undertaker wore to the ring at a WrestleMania, a robe Triple H wore, things along those lines. They had a few stations were you could get your picture taken with a Diva, throughout the night Michelle McCool, Mickie James, and Katie Lea Burchill were doing those. By far the best station they had, besides the autograph signings was Undertaker's Graveyard, which was pretty cool. It was a tarped off corner of the convention center, they had real grass on the ground and you walked trough a graveyard which tombstones, one for each wrestler Undertaker has defeated at WrestleMania. Speaking of the Undertaker, however, there was a quite a big disappointment at Axxess. They had been advertising for weeks that Friday's AXXESS featured Undertaker and Edge. Naturally, everyone assumed it was an autograph signing and the the WHOLE NIGHT everyone was asking people to worked there and other people which station the signing would be at. Needless to say, when everyone found out Undertaker was only cutting a promo in the ring they had set up, everyone, myself very much included, were let down. Now, if they had advertised from the start "Undertaker Live at AXXESS will address the fans", it would have been fine. And seeing the Undertaker that close was awesome, but everyone was expecting a meet and greet, so that was a bummer. And that bummer outweighed all the high points of the night. Same goes for Edge, who did a Q&A in the ring, but no signing. What WWE should have done was just advertise Undertaker and say he would be cutting a promo, because when they advertise two featured guys for a interactive fan event, naturally every assumes autograph signing. Overall it was a good night, though, in the ring they had a match, Michael Tarver vs. Justin Gabriel, two NXT rookies, but for the most part Howard Finkle and this other guy in the guy who was just an AXXESS employee just did stuff with the fans. at the very end though, they had the WWE Superstar Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 tourny, which I actually missed, as I was at the Cody Rhodes meet and greet station. They had other booths like a trivia game, a place where you could take your picture in front of a WWE Magazine backdrop, an actual ring your could go in, so overall it was a pretty good night. I would give it 3 out of 5 stars, going by the superstars they had signing autographs and taking pictures, what they were doing in the ring, and just all the other booths.
Although I didn't get to meet all of them, the superstars there were: Dolph Ziggler, Primo, Chris Masters, Vickie Guerrero, Melina, Mickie James, Michelle McCool, Teddy Long, Santino Marella, Katie Lea, Shelton Benjamin, Vladimir Kozlov, Santino Marella, Cody Rhodes, Natalya, Tyson Kidd, and DH Smith. That sounds like way more than it felt like, but I guess there were actually 17 guys there, wow.
Check back tomorrow for the live report of the Morning Madness autograph session, the WWE Hall of Fame Inductions Ceremony, and another AXXESS event!
